Here's the thing
I stumbled on something: writing one book for years, often with mixed feelings at the end of a day, makes no payment to your everyday muse. But I like to eat, and I suffer the blight of omniverous travellers which is constantly missing certain tastes, so I started trying to recreate dishes I couldn't get locally - and I found it pays rent on the creative urge while the big job's underway. Nothing fancy, mostly comfort food. I don't do detailed recipes but here are some ideas that fed my muse...

Saffron Estofado
Comfort City

Danish Hot Dog
Skide godt

Corned Beef Hash & Grits
Breakfast of champeens

Caldo Xochitl
Cure-all chicken soup

BBQ Ribs
Hangover ammo
